Blaze sighed a doggie-sigh and layed down. Blaze rested on his side, staring up at the spring sky.

Saline padded through the dense fir forest, her eyes swaying across the land in search of food. At the sight of movement she stopped and stood statue still. She licked her dry lips and looked up through the leaves of the trees at the light blue sky.

Blaze sat up suddenly and howled again, a louder, longer tune. Blaze hoped for a reply.

The young silver wolf shook her coat as what ever had moved was long since gone. Saline huffed and trotted past the trees to the distant sound of a rushing stream when she was stopped by the howl of another wolf.

Blaze sighed again. He slowly started to pad to the near hot spring, which was right next to the river. Blaze picked up speed and finally into a lope, desprite to get to the hot springs and relax his acheing mucsels. He finally slowed down and slipped into the hot water.

Finally, Blaze stood up again and padded out of the hot spring. Blaze shook off his coat and glanced at his reflection in the river. He looked like a fluffy ball of fur. Blaze lay on his side and flattened his fur down, grooming the dirt out of his course fur.

She leaped over a dead log, into a warm patch of sunlight, her silver fur glowing almost pure white in its glare. She scents the air and notices the smell of another wolf. She lets out an urge to howl and gives all her breath to power it, before it dies away, leaving only silence with her. She starts trotting to the stream once more, spotting the edge of the forest now, were the stream rushed on, a fish jumping into her view.

Blaze smelt another wolf. He jumped up and looked around, his tail wagging wildly, but low down, so it was hidden. Blaze barked softly, waiting for the reply. He then whined in happiness at the thought of another wolf in the vally. Blaze then froze. It could be his pack, the ones that were to kick him out in 4 months if he did not find a mate.

Saline worried that it was one of her packmates and stood still and tense, ready to run at any moment. She looked toward the scent of the wolf hidden from view and whined uneasily with her head low and ears pricked alert. She took in another breath of the scent, almost sure it wasnt one of her old packmates but still not taking any chances.

Blaze shook his coat out, returning back to the preasent time. Blaze whined softly in submission, senseing the wolf was scared.
